Who Are We
MICAH MABERRY
Founder & CEO
Born in South Africa, Micah Maberry has witnessed and served those living in extreme poverty. The majority of his upbringing and adulthood has been rooted in Colorado, where he has built homes and contributed to several significant construction projects.
Micah has held top leadership positions across seven different sectors, achieving notable success in each. However, he has also faced various hardships that have shaped a deep desire to dedicate the rest of his years to His work at Front Porch Farms. Micah is profoundly grateful for the understanding that all achievements and perseverance through life's challenges are made possible by God Almighty, who works through His people as instruments of His love.
With a strong aspiration to reflect God's light and the goodness of His people through Jesus Christ, Micah is committed to serving others. Believing that the homeless are creations of God, made in His image, he emphasizes that somewhere along their journey, a catastrophic event occurred. It is the responsibility of the church to assist brothers and sisters on the streets in finding their way back home.
DENAY MABERRY
President
Denay Maberry is a gold medalist and Honors music graduate from the University of Cape Town, with an extensive international resume as an accomplished South African performer, educator, and cultural practitioner. For 14 years, she is also co-founder, former CEO, and board director at The Rainbow Academy, Cape Town’s multi-award-winning, non-profit School of Creative and Cultural Industries serving disadvantaged youth and communities in education, jobs, and social entrepreneurship in South Africa.
Denay completed her Master’s Degree in Cultural Policy and Management at The University of The Witwatersrand in 2022 and is the recipient of the 2017 nominee for the NEA Martin Luther King Award for Outstanding Contribution to Human Rights and Wits Outstanding Academic Award in 2021. She is also the recipient of the 2021 Business and Arts Award South Africa for Management and Leadership in the Cultural Economy in South Africa.
As President of Front Porch Farms, Denay brings her over 15 years’ experience, expertise, and passion for working in the non-profit and government-to-corporate stakeholder arena to Front Porch Farms. Along with her husband, Micah, she is committed to realizing the mission of Front Porch Farms and dedicating the rest of her years to His will.
TOM SCHIMMER
CHIEF CONSTRUCTION OFFICER
Tom Schimmer brings over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, specializing as a general contractor with extensive expertise in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. For five years, he collaborated with Craftsman for Christ, dedicating his efforts to building homes in Mexico for families in need, undertaking this mission twice annually. Additionally, Tom has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for six years, contributing to various community projects.
His work also extends to partnering with several churches, where he assists single mothers and families facing financial difficulties by providing home repairs at no charge. Tom is deeply committed to utilizing the skills he has been granted to support and inspire others to engage in similar acts of service at Front Porch Farms.
ELLA Brookhart
Lead Interior Design
As a graduate with a Master’s certification in interior design from the Heritage School of Interior Design Denver, Ella strives to bring creativity and accessibility to unique and inspired designs to the Front Porch Farms foundation. Her passion derives from a family heavily focused on community outreach and aiding those experiencing homelessness. The difference that a comfortable living space can bring to someone’s life fuels Ella’s passion for working alongside this wonderful team in creating a community and giving people a second chance at a new beginning.
